With the beginning of May the digitisation of the collection of charters from the “Ballei Hessen” of the Teutonic Order, dating from 1145 to 1786, has started. The project is supervised by Dr. Francesco Roberg from the State Archives in Marburg in cooperation with ICARUS and plans to digitise ca. 4.600 charters until the end of June 2011. The digital images and data will be implemented into the online charters portal www.monasterium.net creating a complementary collection to the already integrated charters from the Central Archives of the Teutonic Order in Vienna.
