Quo occiso, Ludovicus Grossus, Francorum rex, in Flandria venit, et, licet cum difficultate, successorem Caroli, Willelmum, (ilium Roberti, comitis Normannorum, quem Henricus rex tunc cap- tum tenuit, Flandris preposuit, et Caroli proditores diversis tor- mentorum generibus, ut dignum erat, interemit. Deraum tot clades, tot incendia, tot bella, tot perturbationes adversus Willelmum in- surgunt, totque malis Flandria afficitur, ut tedeat dici vel scribi, quantomagis pati.
