    XXXVI.

DE SUCCESSORE DATBERTI, HARDRADO ABB ATE [ ET DE SUCCESSORE PIPPIKI, К AROLO, ПЫО EJUS, ET PRIVILEGIO QUOD CONCESSIT HUIC LOCO].

Dadberto quoque jara dicto a seculo migrante, Hardradus in abba- tia successit, vir insignis in extollenda monasterii sui dignitate. Cujus labor et industria enitet in kartis, quae hactenus sub ejus apud nos conservantur memoria. Nam cum, decedente prefato rege Pippino, Karolus, filius ejus, illi Francorum gloriosissime successisset in regno, anno dominica; incarnationis dcclxviii., prefatus abbas jam dictum adiens regem Karolum, rogavit haec ab illo regia auctoritate firmari, qme antecessores sui regalibus privilegiis sacro huic loco visi fuerant condonasse. Quod isdem excellentissimus rex magna benignitate complectens, devote complevit, ut id ipsum regale firmamentum, cum sigilli ejus impressione, nobis hactenus ita patefacit.
