Date: Date- as this grant is not in the papal confirmation of 1172, the Wm. FitzAlan who assents to it must be Wm. FitzAlan 11. It must therefore have been made between 1175, when he came of age (no. 26 n.), and 1176 when Ivo Pantulf had been succeeded by Hugh (Eyton, viii, 154).
