115 Final concord whereby Walter de Daiville, defendant, after a plea of warranty of charter, acknowledged that he had granted to Alan Basset of Wycombe (Bucks), plaintiff, half a knight's fee in Winterbourne Bassett (Wilts) and conceded that Alan should hold the landfrom the chief lords of the fee in return for the service that pertains to that land. Date: MS.- P.R.O. CP 25-l-282-6, no. 27, the left-hand counterpart. Notes- The foot is P.R.O. CP 25-1-250-4, no. 8 and is calendared by Fry in Wilts. Fines, p. 12. See C.R.R., viii, pp. 283 and 285. On the latter page there is a note of a further agreement between Alan and Walter, by licence of the justices and on the same day as the fine, whereby Walter warranted to Alan the half fee as that which he had granted, remised and quitclaimed to Alan to hold of Walter de Dunstanville (III), the chief lord of the fee.
