Hec est finalis concordia que facta fuit apud Oxeneford in curia regis coram Ricardo Giffard et Rogero filio Reinfredi et Iohanne de Caerdif iusticiis regis ad proximum festum apostolorum Petri et Pauli postquam dominus rex cepit liganciam baronum Scocie apud Eboracum inter canonicos Oseneie et Ingream et tres filias eius scilicet Gundream et Isabellam et Margaretam de terra de Oxenefordia unde placitum fuerat inter eos in curia regis scilicet quod Ingrea et tres filie sue prenominate clamauerunt predictis canonicis quietam terram illam in Oxenefordia de se et de heredibus suis pro xx solidis quos canonici illis dederunt et omne ius quod in eadem terra habebant quietum illis clamauerunt

Date: The next deed, the earliest original fine, has been printed in Round's Feudal England, p. 514, and also in Charters in the British Museum, no. 55, where it is reproduced in facsimile, with notes, to which the reader may be referred. It is now among the Cotton charters, where also other early charters of Oseney are found. There is probably a reference to this fine in the Pipe Roll for 23 Hen. II, p. 14, where it is recorded that Wigerus de Oseney paid half a mark pro licencia concordandi before Richard Giffard, Roger son of Renfred, and Robert son of Bernard; this is in the year ending Michaelmas, 1177. John de Caerdif acted as deputy for Robert son of Bernard. It has not been possible to identify the women mentioned, and no Ingrea or Gundrea has been met with in all the records of Oxford. It may be that Ingrea was the wife of William son of Siward, who died about 1175 and gave his property to Oseney (see vol. i, pp. 334, 337).
