Date: [1224-00-00]
Abstract246. Record of assize of darrein presentment between Roger of Berrow on one part and the custodian of the cathedral priory and the prior of Little Malvern on the other. The custodian produced the charters of Robert of Berrow (no. 244) and Bishop Henry (probably no. 247) proving that Berrow was dependent upon Overbury, and the prior of Malvern a charter of Roger's father Robert granting the advowson to Malvern. Roger asserted that his father presented the last parson, Master Ralf de Stoke, after the death of Godfrey, presented by the prior of Malvern, but the custodian of the cathedral priory said that Godfrey was never parson but that Uctred, presented by the prior to Overbury was, and that on Uctred's death the prior presented to Overbury Master Ralf de Stoke. The jurors found that Berrow was a chapel of Overbury and that the custodian of the priory should have seisin thereof. 1224.
