Abstract: 137 Final concord between Robert of Chacombe, defendant, and plaintiffs Ralph Basset (II) of Sapcote (Leics) and his wife Millicent, daughter of Robert. The agreement deals with the marriage portions of Millicent (2 carucates in Strubby, Lincs, or 15 librates from Robert's manor of Chacombe in exchange) and her sister Mabel (the manor of Great Dalby, Leics). Details are given for the division between Mabel and Millicent of Robert's lands at his death, i.e. the manors of Chacombe (Northants), Great Dalby and Aspley Heath (Warw), the 2 carucates in Strubby and Robert's other lands. Abstract: 32 Inspeximus by Alexander Stavensby, bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, of the composition between Tutbury Priory and Robert de Rideware, rector of Hartington (Db.) and chaplain of Tutbury Castle, made with the assent of William de Ferrers II, earl of Derby, over the major and minor tithes of Hartington Forest and over the tithe of hay from the meadow under the Castle belonging to the Castle chapel. The Priory abandoned all these tithes, excepting the tithe of hunting from Hartington Forest, and in return received from the rector 5 acres of meadow in Marston-on-Dove (Db.). Agreement between Thurgarton and Sir Oliver (6th baron) Deyncourt whereby Sir Oliver granted that Thurgarton should always have in Frithwood twelve animals, eight pigs and twelve cartloads of wood under a penalty of one cask of wine or 40s. (1231-2). Notes. fo. 142 is badly stained at the bottom by what appears to be a contemporary spillage of ink. The writing is discernible but not clear enough to determine accurately and ultra-violet light failed to improve matters.
