    L(othario) illustri et glorioso Romanorum regi consules Ro- 1128 mani et alii principes salutem et prosperitatem.

    Nos in servitio et fidelitate beati Petri et domui papae Ho- norii persistimus; et quodb placeat ei, amamus. Certis autem experimentorum rationibus agnovimus, quoniam ipse vera in Domino caritate personam tuam diligit et ad honorem tuum manutenendum et exaltandum affectu paterno intendit. Quam ob rem nos de exaltatione tua ad regnum gaudemus; hoc op- tantes, ut, quod de te bene inceptum est, cicius, annuente Deo, perficiatur".

    Unde super tarditate tua satis miramur. Hac siquidem oc- casione C(onradus) ille, Longobardiam ingressus, regnum Italicum nititur occupare. Eapropter presentibus litteris prudentiae tuae mandamus: quatinus, aliis omissis, omni occasione seposita, proxima ventura hyeme ad presentiam domni papae venias, ab eo dignitatis plenitudinem et honorem imperii prestante Domino recepturus. Nos interim diligenti studio operam dabimus, quatinus populus Romanus ad te, sicut decet, honorifice susci- piendum sit paratus.
