    Universis presentes litteras visuris et audituris ego Ropertns miles, filius nobilis viri domini Craftouis1) de Grifenstein, notum facio, quod fide prestita corporali me obligavi, quod dominica die quadragesime nunc instantis qua cantatur Invocavit proxime nunc futura Coloniam revertar in captivitatem, qua ex parte civitatis et civium Coloniensium ibi sum detentns, si medio tempore non possum complanari cum eis- dem, et interim proximi mei et amici habentes [sic] in bono statu pacis nomine meo nichil attemptabunt contra ipsos, fraude et dolo cessan- tibus penitns in premissis. Super hiis in testimonium atque fidem rogavi honestum virum dominum Rodolfum de Rifferscheit, qui me- cum fiduciavir, quod premissa servare debeam et implere, quod si- gillum suum pro me duceret presentibus appendendum. Et ego Ro- dolfus de Rifferscheit predictus premissa vera esse recognoscens si- gillum meum presentibus appeudi in testimonium eorundem. . i
