    Viris honorabilibus et discretis iudicibus, scabinis, consilio et uni- versitati in Colonia Everhardus de Ovirsburch et Hermannus dictus de Litore, milites Bopardienses, quicquid possunt obsequii, promo- tionis, prosperitatis et honoris. Prudentie vestrc regratiari non suffi- cioius, quod vos Hermannum et Gernodum fratres, exhibitores pre- sentium, de Milewalt, affines nostros et amicos, ad vestrum servitium collegistis. Quare vos scire volumus, quod ad tempus2) vobis pro- missum servient pro posse et nosse sine dolo. Et si, quod deus avertat, ipsos vel alterum ipsorum in servitio vestro mori contigerit, etiam quocumque casu interveniente, quod nulla vindicta sequetur nec habebitis de ipsorum consanguineis vel amicis super eo aliquam materiam questionis; unde supplicamus cum ipsis et pro ipsis, qua- tenus ipsos benevole pertractetis. In cuius rei testimonium presen- tem litteram conscribi fecimus et sigillis nostris, que presentibus sunt appensa, firmiter communiri.

    Actum et datum liopardie anno domini millesimo ducentesimo nonagesimo primo, iu crastino palmarum.
