De stad Utrecht antwoordt aan de stad Lubeck , dat zij in onmin verkeert met de bur gers van Stavoren, maar niettemin bereid is, het hare bij te dragen tot herstel van de goede verstandhouding tusschen Lubeck en Stavoren 2). — (1329 of 1330.)

    Viris prouidis et honestis, amicis nostris, consulibus et communi ciuitatis Lubicensis consules et rectores vniuersitatis ciuitatis Traiectensis quidquid potcrimus beniuolencie et fauoris. Litteras vestras, quas nobis super dissencione , quam habetis cum Slaurensibus. gratanter in crastino natiuitatis beati Johannis baptiste nos accepisse noueritis, ad quas secundum peticiouem vestram sciatis, quod Staurcnses nuper nostris ciuibus sine causa dampna et iniurias intulerunt, de quibus nundum satisfecerunt eisdem; quibus non ob- stantibus, si quid boni inter vos et ipsos possemus componere , ad hoe nos reddimus be- niuolos et paratos. Ipsi tarnen de districtu episcopatus nostri non sunt, sed de districtu comitis Hollandie, nee est intencionis nostre ipsis contra vos aliquod subsidium imper- tiri. Volumus eciam, quod ciues nostri aliquam societatem non contrahant cum eisdem. Dominus vos conseruet.

    Datum sabbato post natiuitatem beati Johannis predictam.
