Grant by Earl William de Warenne to the canons in free alms of two acres of land in his vill of Reigate lying at the foot of the hill beside the road to Walton on the Hill at the place called White Lamb and measuring one hundred and forty feet by seven hundred feet for a quarry where the canons may dig when they wish for stone for the building of their church or for any building. Carta Willelmi comitis de Warenna de quarraria apud Reigate Anno domini mccxviij incipiente Omnibus Christi fidelibus tam Francis quam Anglis ad quos presens scriptum pervenerit Willelmus comes de Warenne salutem Noverit universitas vestra me pro salute mea et successorum meorum et antecessorum concessisse et dedisse et hac presenti carta mea confirmasse Deo et ecclesie Sancte Crucis de Walt[h]am et canonicis regularibus ibidem deo servientibus duas acras terre in villa mea de Reigate que iacent ad pedem montis iuxta viam que ducit ad Waletune in loco qui dicitur Witelamb extendentes se ab oriente in occidentem habentes viij perticatas in latum et quadraginta in longum habend et tenend eisdem libere quiete finabiliter in puram et perpetuam elemosinam ad fodiendam ibidem petram quando voluerint sive ad fabricam ecclesie sue nove sive ad cetera quelibet edificia sua expedienda Et hanc totam ego Willelmus et heredes mei warantizabimus predictis canonicis et defendemus contra omnes homines et feminas Et ut hec mea concessio et donatio rata sit et stabilis presentem cartam eis feci et sigillo meo roboravi Hiis testibus Willelmo de Mara et cetera
