10. Final concord made in the king's court at Chelmsford before the itinerant justices named between Richard Guncelin and the prior of Stoke by Clare concerning fifteen acres of land in Toppesfield, which Richard recognises to be the right of the prior and convent, to be held of him and his heirs in perpetuity in free alms for a yearly rent of twelve pence and fourteen pence for scutage when taken. Hec est finalis concordia facta in curia domini regis apud Chelmereford in octavis Sancti Iohannis Baptiste anno regni regis Henrici filii regis Iohannis vicesimo quarto coram Willelmo de Eboraco preposito Beverlaci Henrico de Bathonia Rogero de Thurkelby et Gilberto de Prestun[] iusticiariis itinerantibus et aliis domini regis fidelibus tunc ibi presentibus inter Ricardum Guncelyn petentem et priorem de Stok[] tenentem de quindecim acris terre cum pertinenciis in Thopesfeld[] unde placitum fuit inter eos in eadem curia scilicet quod predictus Ricardus recognovit predictam terram cum pertinenciis esse ius ipsius prioris et ecclesie sue predicte habend et tenend eidem priori et successoribus suis et ecclesie predicte de predicto Ricardo et heredibus suis in liberam et perpetuam elemosinam inperpetuum reddendo inde per annum duodecim denarios ad duos terminos scilicet medietatem ad festum Sancti Michaelis et alteram medietatem ad Pascha et ad scutagium domini regis quando evenerit quatuordecim denarios sive fuerit ad plus sive ad minus pro omni servicio et exaccione ad predictum Ricardum et heredes suos pertinente Et idem Ricardus et heredes sui warantizabunt eidem priori et successoribus suis et ecclesie predicte totam predictam terram cum pertinenciis per predictum servicium contra omnes homines inperpetuum Et pro hac recognicione warrantia fine et concordia idem prior dedit predicto Ricardo quatuor marcas argenti
