91. Taxation by Walter de Suffield bishop of Norwich of the vicarage of Crimplesham, which is to consist of all the altarage, half the tithe of hay and one acre of land. The vicar shall pay the synodals and provide books and ornaments for the church. The monks shall have the tithe of corn and half the tithe of hay, and they shall maintain the chancel and pay the archdeacon's procuration. When the vicarage becomes vacant they shall present to the bishop a suitable parson. 12 March 1253. Universis Christi fidelibus presentes literas audituris vel visuris Walterus Dei gracia episcopus Norwicensis salutem in Domino sempiternam Quoniam per inquisicionem invenimus vicariam in ecclesia de Cremplesham actenus non fuisse taxatam licet aliqui in eadem certas habuerint porciones ne de taxacione vicarie predicte futuris temporibus hesitetur eam duximus sic taxandam Consistit vicaria in toto alteragio ecclesie memorate et medietate feni et in una acra libere terre ecclesie antedicte et vicarius sustinebit sinodalia et expensas librorum et aliorum ornamentorum ecclesie sepedicte salvis priori et monachis de Stokes omnibus decimis bladi et medietate decime feni et dicti monachi reficient cancellum et solvent procuracionem archidiaconi et cum vacaverit vicaria prefata presentabunt nobis vel successoribus nostris dicti monachi personam ydoneam ad eandem In cuius rei testimonium sigillum nostrum presentibus duximus apponendum Datum apud Hevingham die Sancti Gregorii anno Domini mcclii
