Manasser de Dammartin omnibus hominibus et amicis suis salutem sciatis quod ego consilio et concessione Galiene uxoris mee et Bartholomei filii et heredis mei dedi et concessi ecclesie Sancte Marie de Messend et canonicis ibidem deo seruientibus terram quam habebam apud Messend que Hida appellatur illam scilicet quam Hunfridus de me tenuit et ipse in manu mea reddidit cum omni iure quod in eadem terra habuit et liberam ab omni calumpnia clamauit Hanc itaque terram concedimus predictis canonicis cum omnibus pertinentiis suis in bosco in plano in aquis et omnibus aliis rebus ad eam pertinentibus in feudum et hereditatem et eternam possessionem solutam et quietam et liberam ab omni seruitio seculari et exactione et consuetudinibus et donis et relaxationibus que reddi uel exigi solent a feudo Ita tamen ut inde michi et heredibus meis viginti solidos annuatim persoluant Scilicet decem ad Pascha et decem ad festum Sancti Michelis seruitiumque regis commune facient quod hidage aut danegeld uocatur Et quia terra solebat reddere xxx solidos per annum uxorque Raineri ius hereditarium in eandem terram calumpniabatur fuit enim data Rainero terra illa quando uxorem desponsauit cum ipsa canonici predicte ecclesie tantum de suo dederunt quod uxor Raineri decem solidos qui ultra viginti solebant reddi pro se et heredibus suis quietos ecclesie de Messend clamauit et absolutos dimisit in perpetuum sacramentoque firmauit coram nobis Nos uero ego et heres meus concessimus prefate ecclesie supradictos decem solidos in elemosinam pactique sumus et carta hac confirmauimus quod predicti canonici nichil amplius facient de terra illa quam xx solidos per annum in quacumque manu terra fuerit aut quibuscumque ipsis constitutum fuerit reddere redditum illius terre Uolumus itaque firmiterque statuimus quod predicti canonici teneant terram illam bene et in pace et honorifice pro supradictis xx solidis Habeantque curiam suam de omnibus querelis et placitis que de ipsa uel in ipsa terra suborta fuerint Teste Theobaldo archiepiscopo Cantuar Hilario episcopo Cicestr Willelmo episcopo Norwic Wigodo priore de Oseneia et Hardingo sub priore Radulfo canonico Willelmo abbate de Lilehul Willelmo priore eius Magistro Roberto de Burenham Rogero clerico Willelmo clerico de Cyncg Ricardo clerico Grelendo de Tani Henrico des Escalieres Waltero de Gurnay Manassero nepote meo Radulpho filio Hunfredi
