Uniuersis sancte matris ecclesie filiis Willelmus del Bec salutem Volo ut ad notitiam perueniat omnium quod carte olim facte de Burnis siue de iure aduocationis eiusdem ecclesie et per manum patris mei Hugonis del Bec uel per meam manum date ecclesie sancte Trinitatis de Hastinges siue hospitalariis siue quibuslibet aliis locis preter ecclesiam sancti Gregorii Cant non sunt rationabiliter date sed iniuste Pater enim meus neque mater mea in prefata ecclesia de Burnis ius aduocationis nunquam habuerunt unde alteri quod suum non erat rationabiliter dare non potuerunt Ego uero qui aliquid iuris in aduocatione predicte ecclesie habere putebar rationabiliter eam dare non potui Quia semper lis habita est de iure aduocationis inter me et Eustachium de Burnis quo usque ego ueniens in curiam regis Ricardi anno primo regni eius quicquid iuris in prefata ecclesia de Burnis clamaueram uel habere putebar ipsi Eustachio et heredibus suis pro me et heredibus meis sub cyrographo in ipsa curia domini regis coram Willelmo episcopo Eliensi domini regis cancellario et coram ceteris iustitiis facto totum liberum et quietum finaliter clamaui Et quam prefatus Eustachius et pater eius Robertus sepenominatam ecclesiam de Burnis aliquo tempore dederunt canonicis sancti Gregorii quos ego multotiens super eadem ecclesia iniuste uexaui penitens et ueniam postulans de iniusta uexatione me deinceps illos in hac parte nullatenus uexaturum coram deo et fatie ecclesie fideliter spospondi Et ut prefati canonici sancti Gregorii pretaxtam ecclesiam de Burnis inperpetuum libere et quiete habeant et possideant omni iuri cessi si quid in ea aliquo tempore habere uisus sum et quantum ad me uel heredes meos pertinere estimatum est eis totum concessi libere et quiete possidendum inperpetuum pro me et heredibus meis Et ut hec carta mea et quicquid in ea continetur inperpetuum ratum habeatur et firmum hanc cartam meam sigilli mei appositione roboraui et muniui Testibus hiis Petro capellano Ricardo presbitero Rogero de Feuersham Radulfo de Feuersam Theobaldo de Sartrino Iohanne de Hakintone Et multis aliis
