128. Notification by Lancelin of Stoke and Avice his wife that they have received from Simon abbot of Rufford 1-2 mark rent for the 2 years following, due for their tenement in Abney. They will not exact any more before June 29, 1236, and on that day will only take 2 shillings and 4d. (7 August 1233). Omnibus hoc scriptum visuris vel audituris Lancelinus de Stoka et Auicia uxor eius salutem Noverit universitas vestra quod dompnus Symon abbas de Rufford[] et eiusdem loci conventus anno gratie m cc xxx iij proxima die dominica ante festum sancti Laurentii tradiderunt nobis dimidiam marcam argenti pre manibus super firmam duorum annorum subsequentium quam firmam nobis debebant pro tenemento suo de Abeneya Ita quod non poterimus exigere ab eis aliquam firmam pro Abeneya usque ad diem apostolorum Petri et Pauli anno gratie m cc xxx vi et illo die non reddent nobis nisi ii solidos et iiii denarios In huius rei testimonium et securitatem cum fidei nostre adiunctione presenti scripto sigilla nostra apposuimus Hiis testibus Willelmo de Hegelaue et multis aliis
