774. Agreement between Thurgarton as rector of Timberland and St Katherine's Lincoln concerning the tithe of turves in Timberland Fen. St Katherine's granted that in the year they dig turves they will give 12d. to Timberland church from a plot which was tithable before they were given it. Tburgarton released and quitclaimed to St Katheyine's all claim of tithe from their other plots in Timberland Fen (19 May 1245). Noverint universi presens scriptum visuri vel audituri quod cum lis mota esset inter priorem et conventum de Thurg[] rectorem ecclesie de Timb[] ex una parte et conventum canonicorum sancte Katerine Linc[] ex altera super exaccione decimarum turbarie in marisco de Timb[] anno incarnacionis domini m cc xl quinto in festo sancti Dunstani amicabil[it]er conquievit in hunc modum videlicet iidem prior et conventus sancte Katerine Linc[] concesserunt quod perpetuis temporibus quobus anno quo eos fodere contigerit turbas in marisco de Timb[] dabunt xij denarios ad Pascha ecclesie de Timb[] racione decime cujusdam placee que jacet infra turbariam de Timb[] decimas percipere consuevit antequam predicta placea devoluta fuit in manus predicti prioris et conventus sancte Katerine Linc[] Predicti vero prior et conventus de Thurg[] remiserunt et quietumclamaverunt predictis priori et conventui sancte Katerine Linc[] omnem exaccionem decime de aliis placeis suis in marisco de Timb[] quas habuerunt tempore hujus convencionis scilicet duas placeas ex dono Philipi filii Philipi de Timb[] quarum una jacet inter mariscum predictorum prioris et conventus sancte Katerine Linc[] et mariscum Roberti Barat et altera inter mariscum vicarii de Timb[] et dominicum mariscum ejusdem Philipi et unam placeam ex dono Alani filii Roberti Menewat que jacet juxta mariscum predictorum prioris et conventus sancte Katerine Linc[] et unam placeam ex dono Willelmi Caperon que jacet juxta turbariam predictorum prioris et conventus sancte Katerine Linc[] et duas placeas ex dono Ranulfi de Bergate quarum una jacet inter turbariam prioris et conventus de Thurg[] et turbariam Walteri filii Galfridi et altera inter turbariam Willelmi Caperon et turbariam Galfridi filii Haldani sicut carte eorum quas de ipsis habent testantur ita quidem remiserunt predicti prior et conventus de Thurg[] predictis priori et conventui sancte Katerine Linc[] quod nunquam decimas ab eis aliqua de predictis placeis exigent nec per alios exigi permittent Et ut hec composicio firma etc
