131 Agreement between the parishioners of Crich and the abbot and convent of Darley, rectors of Crich, made under the auspices of the commissaries appointed by John Peckham, archbishop of Canterbury, to finish his visitation of the diocese of Coventry and Lichfield. The abbey is to be responsible for the bell-ringing, ropes etc., and for the distribution of alms in the parish as hitherto. With regard to the request of the parishioners to maintain a chantry in the chapel of St. Thomas the Martyr in the cemetery of Crich, the matter is to be held over until Ralph 11 de Frescheville (lord of Crich) comes of age (in 1287), and then to be decided by the commissaries or bv other judges appointed by the parties (31 July 1280).
