586 ff.115] Relaxacio cuiusdam placee terre in brueria de Hoppelega. Jas. of Audley quitclaims a piece of land on Hopley heath which the abbey had claimed by a writ of novel disseisin. Jas. acknowledges in court that the land pertains to the abbey's grange of Hopley and that it may cultivate the land as it pleases, provided he can have common pasture after harvest. The abbey may grind its corn free of toll at Jas.'s mill in return for allowing him to have an abutment to his millpond and the overflow of the water-of the fishpond as far as a certain oak tree (1256).
