(Foliot), bp. of Hereford, records that Madoc, Ralph and Agnes his wife resigned Linley as a result of a case brought by the abbey before the papal judges dele- gate. Now he grants the land to the abbey for 20s. a year and the obligation to provide a serjeantfor 15 days in time of war at Lydbury castle (1179-80).
