Sciant tam presentes quam futuri quod hec est convencio facta inter Alexandrum abbatem et conventum de Haghmon ex parte una et Ricardum filium Edrith Broun de Stanton ex altera videlicet quod predicti abbas et conventus concesserunt et tradiderunt et presenti scripto confirmaverunt predicto Ricardo unam dimidiam virgatem terre cum pertinentiis suis in Stanton[] illam scilicet quam Edricus Broun pater suus tenuit quam quidem dimidiam virgatem terre Matildis mater sua tenebit in tota vita sua secundum tenorem carte quam habet de Thoma filio Simonis de Staunton de dicta terra pro xl s sterlingorum quos eis dedit premanibus Habend et tenend post mortem dicte Matildis matris sue de dictis abbate et conventu sibi in tota vita sua etc Reddendo inde annuatim dictis abbati et conventui xiii s iiii d ad duos terminos etc

Date: In 1236 the abbot had enfeoffed Brun Edrith with this land for an annual rent of 7s. (Rot. Hun. ii, 72). Date- after the 1255 Hundred Roll but before Abbot Alex.'s death.
