Inquisicio capta apud Brehull die Iouis proximo post festum sancti Gregorii pape anno regni regis H filii Iohannis quartodecimo coram Roberto de Fonte senescallo tunc forestarum domini regis inter pontem Oxonie et Staunford ad eadem assignato per ipsum regem et consilium de iure hereditario tenure Iohannis filii Nigelli de foresta de Bernewode per sacramentum domini Walteri de Optone Iohannis Groundone viridariorum Ade filii Petri et Bartholomei le Venor et omnes regardatores et agistatores foreste predicte Qui dicunt per sacramentum suum quod Iohannes filius Nigelli tenet unam hidam terre arabilis que vocatur le Derhyde per seriantiam custodiendi forestam de Bernewode necnon soluendi annuatim pro terra predicta x solidos et pro foresta predicta xl solidos per manum senescalli qui pro tempore fuerit viz pro officio senescalli de eadem balliva Et dicunt eciam quod Iohannes debet habere feodum in bosco domini regis videlicet attachiamentum de spinis de bosco sicco et de bosco qui vento prosternatur et rec[ipit] pannagium ac [...] omnes auen[] gallin[] de redditu predicte foreste cum omnibus aliis commodis predicte foreste pertinentibus [...] pannagium quando proclamatur et indictaciones si que fuerint videlicet de viridi et venacione Et dicunt quod predictus Iohannes et antecessores sui a tempore quo non extat memoria habuerunt in dicto bosco dicti regis housebote et haybote pro custodia dicte foreste
