121 Grant by Anker, son of Ralph de Freschevile, to the canons Of Dale of his moiety of the mill "de Burgo" of Alvaston, together with two aldergroves appertaining to the mill, the site of the mill, the suit to the mill of all his men of Alvaston, Elvaston, Ambaston and Thulston, the labour-services of his men in repairing the millpond and in carrying the canons' timber from Stanley, Ockbrook or Gothay, free right of way and fishing rights. Saving to Anker and his heirs the right of passage by boat or by ford, freedom from multure (also for his steward in Anker's absence), the right of priority for the milling of his grain, and fishing rights between the ford of Spondon and Gothay. Ankees men are to pay the customary multure of the thirteenth part of their grain and can go elsewhere only with the permission of the canons or if the mill has broken down. Otherwise the horse carrying the flour be confiscated to the benefit of Anker and the sacks and r to the benefit of the canons. The canons have permission to remove the mill to another site in the neighbourhood if necessary (24 June 12611).
