      Iohannes episcopus etc. Dilecto filio nobili viro Stephano de Columpna, salutem eto. Presentatas no- bis tue nobilitatis litteras benigne recepimus, inter cetera continentes, quod te, fili, quasi quadam ne- cessitate compulsum a dilectis filiis populo Ro- mano militaris honoris insignia recipere oportebat- Sane quia speramus, huiusmodi receptione milicie tibi ac domui et posteris tuis, quorum statum ze- lamus prosperum, favores et benivolencias eiusdem populi adaugeri, placet nobis, quod cum benedictio- ne dei et nostra condescendas super hiis votis suis- Datum Avinione vi. Kal. Novembris, Pontificatus nostri anno undecimo.
