    Fidelibus Civitatis Castellanae, ut ad pontem in loco Tregi reparandum, et equites ad servitium ecclesiae retinendos pedagia exigere possint. Reg. Tom. V. fol. 115.

    Gregoeius episcopus etc. Dilectis filiis Con- sulibus et Communi Civitatis Castellane, salut. etc. A nobis vestra devotio requisivit, ut cum velitis

    reparare pontem in loco, qui Tregi vulgariter appellatur, et etiam ordinare, ut in Civitate vestra sint equites semper ad servitium ecclesie prepa- rati, vobis concedere dignaremur, ut ad reparatio- nam pontis eiusdem, et equos commodius retinen- dos a transeuntibus pro quolibet homine unum, pro equo duos denarios, sicut olim ponte integro fieri consuevit, recipere valeatis, hcentiam vobis concedere dignaremur. Vestris igitur supplicatio- nibus inchnati, auctoritate vobis presentium con- cedimus postulata; volumus tamen, ut a presta- tione exactionis huiusmodi omnes de curia nostra, necnon clerici et religiose persone penitus sint immunes, cum dignum sit eos in patrimonio ec- clesie prerogativa gaudere, quam eis indulgeant etiam principes seculares. Nulh ergo etc. nostre concessionis etc. Si quis autem etc. Datum Viter- bii Nonis Martii, Pontificatus nostri anno nono.
