    William Rex. Trusty and well beloved, We greet you well. Whereas the Agent of the Hans Towns residing here, bas presented a Memorial unto Us, touching certain Immunities and Pri vileges bumbly claimed by bim for the Still Yard; and the like Memorial having been formerly pre sented unto Our Royal Uocle, King Charles the Second of happy Memory, and by him referred to the then Lord Mayor of that Our City of London, the Malter thereof was in every particular con- sented unto and approved; to wit, that the said Agent and the House, called the Still Yard, in Our said City of London, ought to be exempted frorn all Duties and Taxes whatsoever. We having tbe same Inclination and Desire to maintaine and continue the Immunities and Privileges granted to the said Hans Towns by OurkRoyal Predecessors, and beeing well informed, that Our Subjects residing in any of the said Hans Towns do at this day enjoy the like or greater Privileges there, have thought fit to signify Our pleasure unto You, that the said Agent and House, be accordingly freed from all Duties and Taxes; and that You give efTectual Order, not only for restoring to the said Agent, any Distress that may have been made upon him, but also that for the future, no Molestation be given, nor Distress made upon him, under pretence of refusing to pay any Duties or Taxes, whether by Order of Our Lieutenancy of London, or the Commissioners or Managers of the Hearth-Money, for any Arrears untill Ladyday last past, or of any other City Taxes whatsoever. And so We bid You Farewell. Given at Our Court at White Hall, the 24. Day of May, 1689. In the lirst Year of Our Reign. By His Majesty's Command.
