Heinrich, Herzog von Limburg und Graf von Berg, Walram, sein Bru- der, Arnold, Graf von Lon, Wilhelm, Graf von Jiilich, und Heinrich, Herr von Heinsberg, versprechen auf Grund eines Schreibens von Sei- ten des Kaisers den Kolnern freies Geleit fur Personen und Sachen in ihren Gebieten. — 1237—1244.

    datis, ut in omnibus uestris negotiis exequendis per totam terram uostram et totum posse nostrum personis et rebus uestris meram pa- cem, securum conductum et in aquis et in terris continuam promo- tiouem inpendamus, significando nobis, uos tanta familiaritate, dile- ctione et obsequio, prout tenemini, esse eisdem et Imperio astrictos, quod de uestro auxilio et seruitio sint securi. Nos igitur mandato domini Imperatoris et domini Electi filii sui parere volentes presen- cium tenore uestre discretioni significamus, nos ad hoc esse paratos, amorem et amiciciam uestram, sicut habemus in mandatis, optinere, nisi contrarium a uobis senciamus aflectantes [sic]. Cum autem intellexe- rimus, dominum Coloniensem episcopum modis ad hoc niti omnibus, ut uos a fauore et seruitio Imperii, contra quod ipse iam se ere- xit, auertat et alonget, vobis sane consalimus, ut super eo ita deliberetis, quod uobis expediat gratiam, fauorem et auxilium Im- perii et nostrum amorem et seruicium per hoc optiuendo, cum nos etiam nichil aliud requiramus, nisi quod coram domino nostro in Re- gem Romanum electo de sentencia principum, Magnatum, nobilium, vasallorum et ministerialium Imperii optinuimus. Preterea noueritis, quod ea, que uobis mandamus, vos de domino duce brabantie simili modo securos reddimus.
