      Alexander etc. Dilectis flliis. . magistro et fratribus etc. Fa- voris nostri provenire decet auxilio ut que digne seu iuste cu- pitis libere ac sine trepidatione aliqua perficere valeatis. Sane munitiones et castra quedam ad honorem dei et sancte Romane ecclesie sicut accepimus tenetis in transmarinis et cismarinis partibus que non solum pagani sed etiam alii quamplures ho- mines reprobi et perversi auferre vobis per violentiam moliun- tur. Quia vero de ammissione muiiitionum et castrorum ipsorum vobis et negotio fidei quod per vos in terra sancta necnon in Livonia et Pruscia seu quibuscumque aliis locis per dei gratiam utiliter et potenter agitur, grave dispendium imineret: nos de- votionis vestre precibus inclinati, ut munitiones et castra pre- dicta defendere vim vi repellendo cum inculpate tutele modera- mine valeatis vobis auctoritate presentium concedimus facultatem.
