Die Ueneris proxima post festum Sancti Barnabe apostoli anno regni regis Edwardi filii regis Henrici duodecimo Conuenit inter dominum Robertum Mantel militem ex parte una et religiosos uiros dominum abbatem et conuentum de Messend ex altera Quod cum predictus dominus Robertus communam pasture clamasset in quodam campo qui uocatur le depefeld et le horelond et in quodam bosco qui uocatur le Hydegroue cum pertinentiis in parochiis de magna Messend et de parua Messend et contigui sunt terre ipsius Roberti quam habet in parochia de parua Messend ad omnimoda animalia sua ibidem pascenda tempore aperto idem Robertus pro salute anime sue antecessorum et heredum suorum pro se et heredibus et assignatis suis remisit et in perpetuum quietum clamauit deo et ecclesie beate Marie de Messend et abbati et conuentui predicto totam communam predictam Et concessit pro se et heredibus suis aut assignatis quod predicti abbas et conuentus quoddam fossatum de solo suo proprio leuare possint et facere inter terram ipsius domini Roberti et predictum campum del depefeld et de horlond et super fossatum illud hayam construere et etiam boscum predictum includere possint pro uoluntate sua et tam campum predictum de depefeld et le horlond quam predictum boscum cum omnibus pertinentiis suis sic inclusos libere sibi tenere et successoribus suis absque reclamatione calumpnia cauillatione uel inpedimento predicti domini Roberti uel heredum aut assignatorum suorum in perpetuum Ita quod idem dominus Robertus uel heredes aut assignati sui in predicto campo uel bosco cum pertinentiis nichil commune pasture iuris uel clamii uel ratione alterius seruitutis cuiuscumque exigere clamare uel habere possint in perpetuum Et predicti abbas et conuentus pro se et ecclesia sua predicta et successoribus suis remiserunt et quietum clamauerunt predicto domino Roberto et heredibus et assignatis suis totam communam pasture quam habere clamabant et siquam habere debebant in omnibus terris et tenementis ipsius domini Roberti cum pertinentiis in parua Messend Ita quod idem abbas et conuentus in predictis terris et tenementis predictis nichil commune pasture uel ratione alterius seruitutis cuiuscumque exigere uel clamare possint in perpetuum In cuius rei testimonium predictus dominus Robertus sigillum suum parti huius scripti penes dictos dominum abbatem et conuentum residenti et idem dominus abbas et conuentus sigillum suum commune una cum sigillo eiusdem domini abbatis parti huius scripti penes dictum dominum Robertum remanenti alternatim fideliter apposuerunt Hiis testibus dominis Roberto de la Uache Iohanne de Cheine Alexandro de Hamden et Iohanne le Waleys militibus Roberto Ace Laurentio de Boterfeld Hugone le seriaunt Henrico Mantel et aliis
