186. Final concord between William son of Jordan and the prior of Bushmead concerning 3 ac. in Colmworth. William recognises the land to be the right of the prior. The prior grants it to William to be held at an annual rent of 5s. and two boon works in autumn. At Bedford. 18 November 1240. Hec est finalis concordia facta in curia domini regis apud Bedeforde in octabis sancti Martini anno rengni regis Henrici filii regis Johannis vicesimo quinto coram Ranulfo abbate de Rames[] Willelmo de Ebor[] preposito Beuerl[] Henrico de Bathon[] Rogero de Churkelby et Gilberto de Preston[] Justiciariis itinerantibus et aliis domini regis fidelibus tunc ibi presentibus inter Willelmum filium Jordani petentem et priorem de Bisshemade tenentem de tribus acris terre cum pertinenciis in Colmorde unde assisa mortis antecessoris summonita fuit inter eos in eadem curia scilicet quod predictus Willelmus recognouit predictam terram cum pertinenciis esse ius ipsius prioris et ecclesie sue de Bisshemade et pro hac recognicione fine et concordia idem prior concessit predicto Willelmo totam predictam terram cum pertinenciis habend et tenend eidem Willelmo et heredibus suis de corpore suo procreatis de predicto priore et successoribus suis et ecclesia sua predicta in perpetuum reddendo inde per annum quinque solidos sterlingorum ad duos terminos scilicet medietatem ad festum sancti Michaelis et alteram medietatem ad festum beate Marie in Marcio et faciendo inde per annum duas precarias in autumpno per duos dies ad cibum ipsius prioris et successorum suorum scilicet quolibet die per unum hominem pro omni seruicio et exactione Et idem prior et successores sui warantizabunt adquietabunt et defendent eidem Willelmo et heredibus suis de corpore suo procreatis predictam terram cum pertinenciis per predictum seruicium contra omnes homines in perpetuum Et si contigerit quod predictus Willelmus obierit sine herede de corpore suo procreato predicte tres acre terre cum pertinenciis reuertentur ad predictum priorem uel successores suo quiete in perpetuum
