Date: 1 The text which follows is that of A, which corresponds with the entry on the King's Bench Roll of 1225 [see Fuller, Trans. BGAS, ii [1877], p. 3o6]. The text of B, however, derives from the inspeximus by Edward III, 10 Nov. 1369, recorded on the Patent Roll [cf. CPR, 1367-70, pp. 320-1], and begins- Edwardus dei gracia rex Anglie et Francie et dominus Hibernie omnibus ad quos presentes littere pervenerint salutem. Inspeximus quandam certificationem nobis in cancellaria nostra per thesaurarium et camerarium nostros de mandato nostro missam in hec verba. and ends- Nos autem tenorem certificacionis predicte ad requisicionem dilecti nobis in Christo nunc abbatis de C. tenentis manerium predictum duximus exemplificandum per presentes. In cuius rei testimonium has litteras nostras fieri fecimus patentes. Teste meipso apud Westmonasterium !x! die Novembris anno regni nostri Anglie quadragesimo tercio regni vero nostri Francie tricesimo.
