Omnibus Christi fidelibus presens scriptum visuris vel audituris H permissione divina abbas Cyr[] et eiusdem loci conventus salutem in Domino sempiternam Noverit universitas vestra quod cum Thomas de Molendino de Chilteham tenens noster qui in eadem villa de Chilt[] unum mesuagium et unum molendinum cum clauso adjacente et x acras terre et dimidiam cum suis pertinenciis ex tradicione nostra ad terminum vite de nobis tenuerit et totum tenementum predictum cum terra molendino clauso et suis pertinenciis quibuscumque pro se et heredibus suis et tota sequela sua in manus nostras sine aliqua retencione seu reclamacione imperpetuum reddiderit et quietumclamaverit nos pretextu reddicionis predicte prefato Thome quam diu vixerit concedimus subscripta videlicet quod sibi de servicio competenti et honesto providebitur in quo quamdiu stare potuerit et voluerit et servidum eius nobis placuerit nichil amplius a nobis percipiet nisi cibum et potum et stipendia huiusmodi officio competencia Et si servicium eius nobis displicuerit aut servire non potuerit vel noluerit concedimus ei ad totam vitam suam singulis annis iij quarteria et iij bussellos frumenti et iij quarteria et ij bussellos siliginis ad granariam nostram de Chilteham percipiendo et eciam singulis annis unam robam pretii viij solidorum vel viii s pro eadem et unum hospicium pretii iiij s per annum vel iiij s pro hospicio locando et j carectatam foragii singulis annis ad grangiam nostram de Chilteham percipiendo In cuius rei testimonium parti huius scripti in modum cyrographi confecti penes predictum Thomam remanenti sigillum nostrum apposuimus et alteri parti penes nos remanenti dictus Thomas sigillum suum apposuit Dat[] Cir[] octavo id Julii anno Domini millesimo ccc quarto
