319. Amicable composition terminating dispute between the monks and Gilbert Picot, knight, concerning tithes payable to the church of Little Packington which was heard before papal judges-delegate following the monks' complaint to Gregory IX (see no. 386). Gilbert undertook to render to the monks all tithes of hay of the manor of Little Packington, his own and his tenants', 12 cartloads of wood annually and timber with which a house for the chaplain shall be built and maintained, and gave them 0.5 acre of land and a close in his wood. 1232. Hec est conuentio facta inter dominum priorem et conuentum Wigorn[] ex una parte et dominum Gilbertum Picot militem ex altera Videlicet cum predicti monachi traxissent predictum militem in causam auctoritate litterarum domini pape coram decano Wigorn[] principali iudice et A vicario sancte Helene et P capellano sancti Andree Wigorn[] gerentibus uices de Magna Maluernia et de Eseleya priorum ad totam causam post multas altercationes lis inter dictas partes mota amicabili compositione in hunc modum conquieuit Predictus uero miles dabit predictis monachis nomine ecclesie sue Minoris Pakyntun[] omnes decimas feni totius predicti manerii tam de se quam de omnibus tenentibus suis in predicta uilla Dabit etiam predictis monachis annuatim duodecim carriatas de bosco pro uoluntate dictorum monachorum percipiendas per uisum forestarii sine omni molestia et grauamine et unum mansum ad opus capellani ibidem manentis et meremum cum sex furcis ad faciendum predictam domum et perpetuo sustentandam Dedit etiam predictus miles predictis monachis dimidiam acram terre sue iacentem iuxta terram Bertram in extremitate bosci sui et clausuram de bosco suo ad illam perpetuo claudendam Affidauit etiam predictus miles quod fideliter et sine dolo tenebit hec omnia subiciens se et sua iurisdictioni predictorum iudicum ad compellendum eum et heredes suos ad obseruantiam predictorum Qui uero iudices iurisdictionem suam ex consensu partium integrum sibi reseruauerunt et hoc scriptum sigillis suis cum sigillis partium roborauerunt
