199. Quieta clamacio Henrici de Boulton de clamio, suo in Haia. [23 Sept., 1284] Henry son of Richard of Bolton released to abbot Thomas his rights in that moiety of wood, meadow and moor called Le Haie and in the common of pasture there; and also in the wood and marsh called Common Ker. Dodsworth furnishes the date and adds as witnesses John of Farnhill, John of Keighley, Elias of Stretton, Adam of Plumland, John of Staynwege, Thomas of Haukeswic. Hec carta cirographata testatur quod Henricus filius Ricardi de Boultona in Boulande remisit relaxavit de se et heredibus suis vel assignatis suis inperpetuum quietum clamavit domino Thome abbati de Sallay et successoribus suis et ecclesie sue sancte Marie de Sallai totum jus et clamium quod habuit vel aliquo modo habere potuit in tota illa medietate bosci prati et more que vocatur le Haie de Boultona in Boulande in communa pasture ejusdem Haie fossato et haia inclusa fuit die et anno quo idem Henricus in curia domini regis Edwardi filii regis Henrici coram dominis Johanne de Rayngate et Galfrido Agilun justiciariis assignatis apud Ebor per assisam nove dissaisine questus fuit quod idem injuste et sine judicio dissaisivit eum de communa pasture sue in eadem Haia pertinente ad liberum tenementum suum in eadem villa et eciam totum jus et clamium quod habuit seu quoquo modo habere potuit in tota illa placia bosci et marisci que vocatur comun ker et communa pasture ejusdem loci habend et tenend dicto abbati et successoribus suis et ecclesie sue predicte in suo separabili ita quod nec predictus Henricus nec heredes [vel] assignati sui aliquam communam pasture seu aliquid juris in totis predictis placiis habeant seu inposterum exigi poterunt inperpetuum et pro istis remissione et quieta clamacione predictus abbas concessit pro se et successoribus suis et ecclesia sua predicta quod si averia dicti Henrici heredum vel assignatorum suorum in predictis placiis pro defectu clausture de cetero intrent quod idem et heredes vel assignati sui exinde non occasionentur et aliquod dampni recipiant sed libere recaciabuntur absque [lesione] inperpetuum In hujus rei testimonium huic scripto cirographato utraque pars sigillum suum apposuit His testibus Domino Alexandro de Ledes domino Aungero de Ripon et aliis
