353 Assisa pro Sonsaweshethe. Record of a case in which Matthew son of Ric. of Hull, of Clive, claimed that the abbey had deisseised him of 20 acres of common pasture in Clive. Assisa venit recognitura si Gilbertus abbas de Haghmon frater Ricardus de Dounton frater Stephanus de Overton frater Philippus le Graunte Ricardus filius Stephani de Grileshull Willelmus filius Henrici de Grileshill Willelmus filius Thome David de Grileshull Willelmus filius Ricardi Wigge et Robertus de Naginton iniuste etc disseisiverunt Mathium filium Ricardi de Hull de Clyve de communa pasture sue in Clive que pertinet ad liberum tenementum suum in eadem villa post primam etc Et unde queritur quod disseisiverunt cum de communa pasture sue in xx acris pasture ubi communicare debet cum omnimodis averiis suis per annum etc Eadem assisa venit recognitura si abbas de Haghmon etc ut supra iniuste etc disseisiverunt Mathium filium Ricardi de Hulle de Clyves de communa pastura sue in Clyve que pertinet ad liberum tenementum suum in villa post prima etc Et predicti abbas etc ut supra venerunt et alii non venerunt nec fuerunt attachiati quare non fuerunt inventi Ideo capitur assisa versus eos per defaltam Et abbas et alii dicunt quod predicta communa pastura est in grileshull et non in Clyve Et quod ita sit ponunt se super assisa et Mathius filius Ricardi[] similiter Ideo capitur assisa iurati dicunt super sacramentum suum quod predicta communa pastura est in Grileshill Et ideo consideratus est quod predicti abbas et alii inde sine die et predictus Mathius filius Ricardi nullum capit per assisam istam sed fuit in misericordia pro falso clamio etc
