Comment
Date: This writ preceded the forest perambulations prior to Edward I's confirmation of the Charter of the Forest on 14 Feb. 1301. Although there is some confusion, the writ must have been dated 24 Jan. 1300. The perambulations seem to have taken place in June 1300 (P.R.O., C 47-12-10) and the date 3 Feb. 1301 must refer to the disafforestation of the wood which was confirmed later by the king.Charter on the DEEDS-homepage: http://deeds.library.utoronto.ca/charters/00710395
