Matilda de Vaux, lady of Gilsland, in liege widowhood, noting that the prior and convent have had little advantage from Robert I de Vaux's grant of land for a tithe-barn in Brampton (no. 1) for lack of common pasture belonging to the land, grants common of pasture with her men of Brampton and Boothby, with leave to put tenants on the land. Sealed also by Robert de Vaux, who holds Boothby of Matilda, to show his consent. Kirkoswald [23 September] 1276 (Grant, BRAMPTON, CUMBERLAND (ENGLAND)) Givers: Matilda de Vaux Receivers: Lanercost Priory
