131 Final concord whereby John of Chanceux and his wife Margery, plaintiffs, after an assize of mort d'ancestor, recognized that a virgate and a mill in Pytchley (Northants) were the property of Ralph Basset (I) of Weldon, defendant. In return Ralph granted the virgate to the plaintiffs. Hec est finalis concordia facta in curia domini regis apud Norhampt[] die sancti Mathei apostoli anno regni regis Henrici filii regis Johannis xj coram S de Segrave W filio Warini W de Lond[] W Basset justic[] itinerantibus et aliis domini regis fidelibus tunc ibi presentibus inter Johannem de Chancell et Margeriam uxorem eius petentes et Radulfum Basset tenentem de una virgata terre et uno molendino cum pertinentiis in Pihtesleg[] unde assisa mortis antecessoris summonita fuit inter eos in prefata curia silicet quod predictus[] Johannes et Margeria recognoverunt predictam terram et molendinum cum pertinentiis esse jus ipsius Radulfi Et pro hac recognitione fine et concordia predictus Radulfus dedit et concessit predictis Johanni et Margerie predictam virgatam terre cum pertinentiis habend et tenend ipsis Johanni et Margerie et heredibus ipsius Margerie de predicto Radulfo et heredibus suis imperpetuum reddendo inde annuatim unam libram cymini ad Pascha pro omni servitio salvo forinseco Et preterea pro hac recognitione fine et concordia predictus Radulfus dedit predictis Johanni et Margerie novem marcas argenti Et predicti Johannes et Margeria remiserunt et quietum clamaverunt de se et heredibus suis predicto Radulfo et heredibus suis totum jus et clamium quod habuerunt vel habere potuerunt in predicto molendino cum pertinentiis imperpetuum
