204 Certificate by Richard de Turri, seneschal of Robert de Vipont (I), that Alan Basset is surety that Robert will seal a charter of Robert and Alan on the one part and the men of the neighbourhood of Wycombe who sought common of pasture in Wycombe manor on the other. If Robert has not sealed by the stated time, then Alan will seize all Richard's land in Wycombe and surrender it to the men, who wilI hold it until the sealing is done. Date: MS.- P.R.O.E 40-388. Calendared- Cat. of Ancient Deeds, 1, p. 45.Description-17'-4x 8'-4 cm. Gem seal appended, 2'-2 x 3'-4cm, pointed oval. light brown, legend illegible. MS. is slightly tom. Endorsements- Wicumbe; communia pasture ( l4th- 15th cent.]. Notes-Ralph de Nevill was consecrated on 21 April 1224. This certificate was issued possibly shortly before 21 April, but more probably after it, and before 29 September. Cf'. no. 203, the charter to be sealed, and no. 202.
