Hec est finalis concordia facta in curia domini regis apud Winton[] in octabis sancte Trinitatis anno regni regis johannis decimo coram ipso domino rege Simone de Pateshulle Jacobo de Poterne Henrico de Ponte Audemer[] iusticiis et aliis fidelibus domini regis tunc ibi presentibus inter Robertum priorem de Plimton[] petentem per David Aaron et Ricardum Marchepais positos loco ipsius prioris ad lucrandum vel perdendum et Willelmum de Vernun comitem Devon[] deforciantem de advocatione ecclesie de Exemenistr[] unde placitum fuit inter eos in prefata curia scilicet quod predictus comes recognovit et concessit advocationem predicte ecclesie esse ius ipsius prioris et conventus et ecclesie sanctorum Petri et Pauli de Plimton[] habend et tenend eidem priori et conventui et corum successoribus et predicte ecclesie de Plimton[] in liberam et puram et perpetuam elemosinam et predictus prior et conventus receperunt eum in singulis beneficiis et orationibus que fuerunt in ecclesia sua de Plimton[] imperpetuum

Date: Exminster was one of the Redvers's demesne manors (above, no. 28; PRS, xxvii, 1906, p 18; PRO, E 372-69, m 15) but this is the first evidence of the advowson in the hands of Plympton Priory. Earl William was apparently present when this agreement was made, one of the few occasions when he is known to have been in attendance on the king (see above, p 15). Feast Regnal
