Universis tam libere tenentibus suis in villis de Seleby et Brayton quam villanis Johannes filius Johannis le Chaunberleng de Seleby salutem in Domino Noveritis me assignasse Thomae Abbati de Seleby et Conventui ejusdem loci et eorum successoribus vos et omnia servicia vestra quae michi seu antecessoribus meis aliquo modo facere consuevistis racione tenementorum quae de me tenuistis in villis de Seleby et Brayton Et ideo vobis supplico quatinus praedictis Abbati et Conventui et eorum successoribus tamquam capitalibus dominis feodi de cetero sitis intendentes in omnibus serviciis quae ad praedicta tenementa pertinent In cujus rei testimonium has literas meas vobis mitto patentes Dat apud Seleby die Dominico in crastino Apostolorum Philippi et Jacobi anno Domini m cc lxx septimo et anno regni Regis Edwardi quinto
