40. Notice of an agreement between the prior and John of Trembrase in which John granted to the prior and monks the water which flowed between his land and that of the priory, for an annual rent of sixpence. Permission was also given for a weir to be built for the priory mill, and all streams to be diverted to this, for which the prior gave John two shillings. (Agreement, ST. Hoc scriptum testatur quod anno domini mcc quinquagesimo octauo die mercurii in septimana pentecosten[] talis facta fuit conuencio inter priorem montis sancti Michaelis in Cornubia et Johannem de Trembras videlicet quod dictus Johannes concessit inperpetuum pro se et heredibus suis deo et beato Michaeli dicti loci ac dicto priori et monachis ibidem deo seruientibus totam aquam que fluit inter terram dicti J et terram sancti Michaelis ex altera parte terre de Trembras existentis pro sex denariis redditus reddendis annuatim in festo sancti Michaelis in Septembris vel infra octavas dicto J heredibus suis in quorum solucione si dictus prior cessavit licitum erit dicto J vel suis heredibus distringere molendinum dicti prioris in namine dicte aque in terra dicta eiusdem prioris constitutum usque ad plenariam solucionem dicti redditus Concessit dictus J pro se et heredibus suis dicto priori ac monachis dictis quod possint firmare beodum molendini sui in terram de Trembras dicti J vbi viderint melius expedire et per eandem terram adducere ad dictum beodum omnes riuulos in dicta terra de Trembras defluentes Tenetur vero dictus J vel heredes sui warantizare dictam aquam modo prescripto dictis priori et monachis contra omnes homines et feminas Pro hac vero concessione habend dictus prior dedit dicto J duos solidos sterlingorum premanibus In huius rei testimonium alter alterius scripto in modo cirograffi deciso sigillum suum apposuit Hiis testibus domino Henrico de Kemyel Johanne de Roskemer Reginaldo le Potier Amdan de Gorran Noelo le Potier et aliis
