Inquisicio capta apud Brehull die Iovis proximo post festum sancti Gregorii pape anno regni regis H filii Iohannis quadragesimo nono coram Iohanne de Fonte tunc senescallo foreste domini regis inter pontem Oxonie et Staunford ad eadem assignato per ipsum regem et consilium de iure hereditario Iohannis filii Nigelli de foresta de Bernewode per sacramentum domini Walteri de Uptone Iohannis de Grendone viridariorum et Bartholomei le Venor Iohannis Pydington Iohannis Boys et omnes regardatores et agistatores foreste predicte qui dicunt per sacramentum suum quod Iohannes filius Nigelli tenet unam hidam terre arabilis que uocatur le Derhyde per seriantiam custodiendi forestam de Bernewode necnon soluendi annuatim pro terra predicta x sol et pro foresta predicta xl sol per manus senescalli foreste inter pontem Oxonie et Staunford qui pro tempore fuerit videlicet pro officio senescalli de eadem balliva Et dicunt etiam quod dictus Iohannes solebat habere a tempore quo non extat memoria in bosco domini regis husebote et haybote cum stemmis si dominus rex boscum prosternauerit pro custodia dicte foreste
