    Alexander etc. archiepiscopis et episcopis etc. Cum dilectos filios fratres hospitalis sancte Marie Theutonicorum Ierosolimitani consideratione laboris, quem ad christianitatem servandam tolerant in partibus transmarinis, speciali diligamus affectu et apud omnes cultores nominis christiani haberi conveniat specialiter commendatos, non est rationi conveniens, ut a viris eccle- siasticis, qui debent laicos ad subveniendum eis inducere, aliquam iniuriam patiantur; ideoque universitati vestre auctoritate apostolica prohibemus, ne ecclesie illis concesse et a diocesanis episcopis confirmate post decessum vel recessum vicariorum vel personarum ab episcopis vel eorum officialibus occu- pentur, sed infra quadraginta dies post decessum vel recessum eorum ad pre- sentationem fratrum instituantur in eisdem ecclesiis persone ydonee, que episcopis de spiritualibus respondeant et debitam subiectionem adhibeant, fra- tribus autem sua iura conservent et prebeant illibata.
