382. Acknowledgment by the abbot of the Cistercian monastery of Cumhyr (Radnor) that 13 additional monks, whom the convent received, will serve in perpetuity for the souls of Ralf de Tosny (IV), his wife Petronilla, his sons, his brother Roger, his predecessors and successors. If the obligation is neglected, Ralf or his heirs may take back the granges of Carnas', Kibalva and Owani until the promise is imple- mented. Universis Christi fidelibus ad quos presens scriptum pervenerit abbas et conventus de Cumhir[] Cisterciensis ordinis salutem Noverit universitas vestra quod nos in augmentum conventus nostri pristini tresdecim monachorum in domo nostra de Cumhir recipimus et tenebimus imperpetuum ibidem deo servientes pro domino Radulfo de Thony milite et Petronilla uxore sua et filiis suis et pro animabus ipsorum et anima Rogeris fratris sui et antecessorum et successorum suorum et omnium fidelium Ita scilicet ut quinque celebrent pro defunctis et reliqui pro vivis Et nos istud beneficium fideliter observare pro nobis et successoribus nostris provisimus Et si ista promissio fideliter non observetur licebit predicto Radulfo militi et heredibus suis grangias de Carnas de Kibalva [et] de Owani cum pertinenciis absque omni exceptione cavillatione et appelatione a nobis interponentibus in manum suam capere et retinere donec dicta promissio plene inpleatur Datum anno gratie millesimo ccxxxix
