Ego Thomas dictus Stede rector ecclesiae de Burenham Bathoniensis dioecesis animo contestandi litem ad libellum ex parte religiosorum virorum abbatis et conventus monasterii Sancti Petri Gloucestriae mihi oblatum et traditum dico narrata in eodem prout narrantur vera non esse et ideo petita prout petuntur fieri non debere praestitoque postea hinc inde de calumnia et de veritate dicenda juramento pars dictorum religiosorum exhibuit coram nobis quaedam instrumenta originalia pro jure ipsorum religiosorum quantum ad pensionem praedictam et perceptionem praedictam ejusdem per quae dixit liquido apparere dictos religiosos debere de jure percipere praefatam decem librarum annuam pensionem quorum copiam dicto magistro Thomae decrevimus et fieri fecimus sub nostro sigillo lectis insuper dictis instrumentis saepius coram nobis in judicio requisivimus dictum magistrum Thomam sub virtute praestiti sacramenti an crederet dictam pensionem x librarum saepedictis religiosis debitam esse de jure qui propter bonum conscientiae recognovit in judicio coram nobis jus et possessionem dictorum religiosorum in dicta pensione percipienda sicuti contentum fuit in juramentis praedictis concedens pro se et successoribus suis et pro toto tempore suo bona fide promittens se nomine ecclesiae suae praedictae dictam pensionem tanquam debitam de jure ipsis religiosis et monasterio suo ac prioratui praedicto annuatim in posterum debere persolvere in prioratu Sancti Jacobi Bristolliae in festo Paschae et in octabis Omnium Sanctorum per aequales portiones absque fraude
