[HAGANBY and CATHERTON]. [A.D. 1263) Composition, before the abbot of Selby as arbitrator, between the abbot and convent of Sallay, who held the church of Tadcaster, and the prior and convent of the Park of Healaugh, for the lesser tithes from Hagandby and Catherton belonging to that church. The abbot and convent renounced the tithes except tithe of hay, on payment yearly by the prior and convent of 10s. Cum dudum inter abbatem et conventum de Sallay ecclesiam de Tadcastre in proprios usus optinentes ex parte una et priorem et conventum de Parco de Helagh super decimis minoribus de villa terris pascuis et locis de Haganby et Catherton nunc eisdem appropriatis dicte ecclesie de jure communi spectantibus ut pars adversa dicebat ex altera parte coram abbate de Seleby super hiis auctoritate apostolica cognoscente materia questionis fuisset exhorta partes predicte omni submoto letigio pacem uberiorem affectantes amiabiliter forme subscripte acquieverunt videlicet quod dicti abbas et conventus questioni mote super decimarum illarum peticione exaccioni cuilibet penitus renunciaverunt Nolentes de cetero dictos priorem et conventum de decimis minoribus prelibatis de villa locis terris prescriptis provenientibus nomine ecclesie prelibate per eos vel eorum successores aliquam in posterum moveri questionem salvis decimis feni abbati et conventui predictis sane dicti prior et conventus abbati predicto et conventui singulis annis in perpetuum decem solidos sterlingorum quinque videlicet ad Pentecostem et residuos quinque ad festum sancti Martini in hieme apud grangiam de Tadecastre fideliter pro bono pacis persolvent Ad hec hujus composicionis causa ecclesie de Tadecastre vel abbati et conventui predictis ejus nomine in ceteris nullum inposterum prejudicium pareatur privilegiis partis utriusque exceptis contentis in composicione presenti manentibus illibatis Et ut prescripta robur firmitatis optineant tam dicti abbas et conventus de Sallay quam prior et conventus de Parco predicti hiis scriptis duplicatis mutuo assensu interveniente sigilla sua apposuerunt Hec composicio facta fuit mense Januarii anno domini mcclxiii Interlineare prejudicium erat appositum ante presentis partis littere cirograffate consignacionem
