AbstractTsar Kaliman Asen (1241–1246), son of Tsar Ioan Asen II, endows the Athonite Monastery of Zograf with extensive possessions throught Macedonia, Thrace and the Danube littoral. The document, although supplied with an authentic gold seal of Ioan Asen II, is a forgery from the 16th or 17th century.

AbstractTsar Kaloyan tells the Pope that he has sent Archbishop Basil with lavish gifts to Rome, but the Greeks didn’t allow him to cross the sea, so the Archbishop had to send two of his men to continue the journey to Rome. Kaloyan asks Innocent III to crown him with an imperial crown and elevate Basil to the rank of patriarch.
